Project 2

Meyer-Davis House and

Hasty Cottage

The Meyer-Davis House is a Creole Cottage style duplex originally constructed by Captain Redwood Wharton Sr.  It was designed to serve as a vacation rental.  The duplex was purchased by Ward L. Meyer, the lighthouse's last civilian keeper.

The Hasty Cottage, situated next to Meyer-Davis House, is the last of three turn of the century Florida Cracker style dwellings built by Nathaniel and Elizabeth Hasty.  In addition to its use as a fishing cabin, Hasty Cottage also served as Ponce Park's last post office.
